Overview
Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains how Ticketbutlr handles your data and what we do to protect it.
Data Collection & Storage
We collect and store only the minimum data necessary to provide our service:
- Workspace configuration data (workspace IDs, preferred ticketing system)
- Authentication tokens for Slack, Jira, and Linear integration
- Basic metadata about ticket creation (timestamps, ticket IDs)
Message Processing
When you mention our bot in Slack:
- The bot only processes messages in channels or conversations where it has been explicitly added
- The bot only processes messages sent after it was installed to a channel - historical messages from before installation are not accessible
- Messages are processed in real-time and are not stored persistently
- Up to 20 most recent messages in the thread or conversation are included for context
- System logs contain only metadata (e.g., message counts, timestamps) - no actual message content
AI Processing
Message content is processed through OpenAI's API with the following safeguards:
- Content is only processed temporarily for ticket generation
- No conversation history is retained after ticket creation
- Processing follows OpenAI's enterprise-grade security standards
- Only the final ticket summary and description are saved to your ticketing system
Data Security
We implement comprehensive security measures:
- OAuth 2.0 authentication for secure integration with Slack, Jira, and Linear
- Encrypted storage of authentication tokens
- Automatic token refresh handling for continuous secure access
- No storage of conversation content or sensitive data in logs
Transparency
We maintain transparency in our UX:
- All ticket creation actions are visible in your Slack channels
- The bot confirms when tickets are created with a link to the ticket
- Clear feedback is provided for all bot interactions
